Discover upgrades to our trail network plus changes to access points and hours
Now that the ski season is well underway, we’re thrilled to be back on the boards and hitting the trails. This year we’ve made many upgrades to our trail network, as well as some changes to access points and hours.
Some of the updates were made due to changes to the annual Magic of Lights display, which is a significant event for Wesley Clover Parks and a fundraiser for the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
December 26, 2017: "Happy trails: Place where you can XC ski, right in Ottawa" by Matthew Pearson.
"Nothing beats gliding down Champlain Parkway in the crisp sunshine or hitting the trails after dark to enjoy supper by candle light in the cozy confines of Shilly Shally, one of the park’s iconic red-trimmed shacks heated by woodstove and the huffing of skate skiers.
But what if you: a) don’t have a car or b) only have a short window of time in which to squeeze in a skinny ski?
Kanata Nordic doesn't currently have xc skiing or snowshoe equipment for rent. We hope to in the future. In the meantime, we can recommend the following knowledgeable retailers. We suggest you call ahead to determine availability.

Kunstadt Sports (xc ski gear)
Once again this year the holiday season will be ‘illuminated’ by the Magic of Lights display in the evenings. It’s a new name and expanded route through the campground roads. When the display is operational there is NO SKIER OR VEHICLE ACCESS to the roads in use for it, even during the daytime. This is for your personal safety. Kanata Nordic has groomed new bypass trails so that skiers can enjoy loops and not dead-end at a road. Please help Kanata Nordic be a good tenant of the Parks by ...

2017 President’s Report by Marlene Alt
More snow, more members, more skiers on the trails, more volunteers, bigger events, and a cozy cabin with roaring fireplace. That could sum up the year we’re just wrapping up. In our second full season at Wesley Clover Parks, we engaged in a coordinated flurry of efforts to deliver value to our members and to day skiers, and to prepare for the future.
Front and center was relocating our main base to the campground area (usually referred to by ...
