Swap headerReserve Sunday Nov 15, 2009 for our annual get-money-for-your-used-stuff-and- deals-on-new-stuff event!

This year’s Swap and Sale takes place on Sat. Nov. 14th (drop off) and Sun. Nov. 15th (for the sale itself) at the John Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive, Kanata. Drop off any adult or children’s cross country skis, boots or poles on Sat. between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. Experienced club members will help you price your gear. For those considering new equipment this season, we have invited local sports retailers Fresh Air Experience and Bushtukah Sports on Sunday. They will have some deals for you and can also help determine what equipment best suits you. Also at the Swap: Kanata Nordic-branded clothing, for great looks on and off the trails! We have two styles of jacket and a selection of racing attire. See the Club Clothing page for more details.

Saturday, Nov. 10th - Trail Maintenance Report - The beautiful weather wasn't enough to lure many out to help but some hardworking Kanata Racersout on Saturday preparing trails for the upcoming season. The volunteers met at 8:00 AM and focused on addressing the springtime water runoff on the trail halfway between the climbing wall and the gravel path down to the beach. A trench was dug across the trail through the shale rock and four 25 ft. lengths of drainage pipe were installed across the trail. Thans also go out to Pat Kirkham for his hard work with the chain saw clearing our new trails. This isn't the only opportunity to participate in trail maintenance. As long as the snow holds off trail maintenance will go on. Stay tuned. Mike the Trail Man, may be contacted by Email or by leave a message on the Club phone line at 613-592-1038.
