Lots of Snow Left at the end of March

Grooming is scheduled again Saturday morning, March 28. Last full grooming was March 22. Smoothed out the surface for fast skate-ski conditions. Existing tracks were avoided, so they remain along the majority of trail sections where they had been set last week – tracks are icy, due to the thaw/freeze cycles, so be careful and bring klister. WCP – Grooming March 14

With the exception of trail 5 and the trail to the hydro line, all main skate trails were renovated and are in good condition with a firm base.   Trails had significant ruts due to be skied on when the base was very soft; this doubles the grooming time.  We can extend the season by staying off the trails if your skis are sinking several centimetres; wait until it gets colder.  Be cautious if using trail 5 as it is rutted and there are exposed rocks. Passes for The Parks

As most members seem to have received their passes for the trails at Wesley Clover Parks, Marlene will no longer be stationed in the Vail on Saturday afternoons to hand them out. However, if you're still wanting one, just email her and we'll arrange it. More

Grooming regularity

Please note that we're trying to groom at The Parks as often as we can (at least 2 times per week) but the club is also still grooming at the Bonnenfant Centre/Sheila McKee Park, since our programs are running there. We're having equipment issues too and when one machine is down our focus has to be on trails for the programs. Check this blog for regular updates. Thanks for understanding! WCP Trail conditions Tues Feb 3, 2015

We have groomed the Trans Canada Trail east until about 1 km away from Moodie and west across the Watts creek bridge and along the driving range up to the rail underpass. Look for the brand new, clean classic trackset.
