2020 Ski Swap is On, Just Different This Year!

Everything is different in 2020! This year, for our annual autumn Ski Swap, Kanata Nordic is partnering with Kunstadt Sports' Hazeldean Rd. location. Starting October 5th, all Kanata Nordic members can drop off any (gently) used nordic equipment. Here's how it will work: The store will have "consignment" swap forms and a sales binder ready to go. New Trial Trail

We're launching an experiment!Kanata Nordic is reaching out to the local community by grooming the National Capital Commission (NCC)' 5.5 km Watts Creek Pathway from where it intersects with Corkstown Rd. at Moodie Dr. to March Rd. Private Lessons & Clinics

Private lessons will be offered at Kanata Nordic this year through an agreement with instructor Liam Walke. Lessons will be available Sunday, Monday and Friday or by appointment with Liam.Rates are $80/hour lesson (1 person) and $95/hour lesson (2 people), with discounts for larger groups through the scheduling link. Winter Rentals 2020

Thanks to a generous grant in autumn 2018 from the Ottawa Community Foundation, Kanata Nordic now has a modest fleet of rental ski packages, snowshoes, and headlamps. The ski shop is located at the main Kanata Nordic entrance, in Cabin D, in front of the chalet (see trail map). Coaching course – free to all leaders

All on-snow leaders should have at least a basic level of training. To that end, Kanata Nordic is offering a certified Community Coaching course, from Cross-Country Ski de fond Canada. It's free to any volunteers who are leading or assisting this season. The course is being hosted at Nakkertok South, Saturday Nov. 24 from 12:30 - 6:30pm and Sunday Nov. 25 from 12:00 - 6:00pm.
