Notice to YMCA trail usage

Reminder about trails usage at the YMCA YWCA Bonnenfant Centre  (the Y site)
With our Saturday ski programs starting at the Y site this Saturday it is time for a brief reminder about trails etiquette and access to the Y property.
As many of you know, the Y runs programs at this site 12 months of the year for children and teens (often referred to as “vulnerable” members of the population) . As a result, for safety reasons,  the Y must be aware of who is on site at all times.
During the winter, members of Kanata Nordic are welcome to use the trails on site for cross country skiing.
However, we ask that you ski only on the groomed trails;  do not walk on these trails and if  you have a dog please keep it off the trails; in fact please do not bring your dog to the Y property.
During the rest of the year, (the non ski season) because of the children’s programs on site at the Y,  members of the public, including members of Kanata Nordic, are not allowed on site without first seeking permission from the Y. Either phone ahead or drop in at the  Y office by the parking lot to request access to the Y site.
On behalf of our Kanata Nordic Executive we thank you for complying with these few requirements and we look forward to another outstanding cross country ski season.

Richard Batty
President, Kanata Nordic
