Volunteer Opportunities on Club Executive
As we continue to enjoy the last few skis of the season we are already looking to planning next season. The club AGM will take place on March 27 where the membership will vote in the 2017-18 Club Executive.
Kanata Nordic is entirely run by volunteers and the leadership of the Club Executive. Being part of the Executive is a great opportunity to help shape the club, learn governance, build skills, meet other club members and work on a collaborative team.
Open Executive positions:
- Promotion Coordinator: Plan and develop club communications for members, future members and the community to promote the club and its activities.
- Volunteer Coordinator: As a volunteer run club we the volunteer coordinator helps match volunteers with the opportunities we have throughout the season and for special events. This role includes working with other coordinators to develop descriptions of opportunities, promote the opportunities and help fill them.
- Facilities*: This role will be responsible for managing any facilities or infrastructure including parking areas, buildings, outdoor lighting, storage units and supporting special events. It will also include trailhead, trail and wayfinding signage.
Additionally, as the club continues to develop we have more opportunities for leadership help in each of the portfolio areas (Promotions, Trails, Programs) and for our three major events (Ski Swap, Pretzel Sprint Race and Snow Day). If you are interested in taking on a greater role next season in any of these areas, please let us know.
