Kanata Biathlon – Youth program

Ages 10–13+ | No Biathlon experience required | Must be able to Skate Ski
The Kanata Biathlon program introduces athletes to the fundamentals of biathlon, combining Nordic skiing and target shooting in a progressive, age-appropriate environment.
Program Cost: $245.00
All registrants must register for Biathlon Canada membership ($15 for recreational). This number will be needed when registering for Kanata’s Biathlon Bears program.
Indoor Shooting Fundamentals — Mondays 6 pm – 6 Weeks
November 9 – December 14
● Six weeks of indoor shooting fundamentals
● Combination of Eco Aims and air rifles
● Focus on developing safe, consistent shooting technique and biathlon fundamentals
Outdoor / Snow Sessions — 3 to 4 Weeks
● Four outdoor sessions on snow
● Planned for January and February, depending on snow conditions
● Start date will be confirmed once conditions allow
Participants must have skate ski experience and equipment. It is recommended that they also be registered in a dedicated ski program, either through Kanata Nordic (e.g. Kanata Racers, Teen Skate, Jackrabbit 4) or another local ski club to ensure a strong ski foundation. This Biathlon program does not provide ski instruction.
